DREAM GROUPS

The wounding becomes sacred when we are willing to release our old stories and to become the vehicles through which the new story might emerge into time.  – Jean Houston

When we close our eyes and go to sleep at night, something inside us awakes. We step into dreamland and explore the inner corridors of our psyche. There, we encounter dream figures who are symbolic and beneficial for our personal growth. Our dreams contain nourishment and medicine that is needed to support, sustain, and even heal us. We can learn to cultivate this nourishment and to distill the medicine from our dreams and improve our physical and psychological wellbeing. Working on our dreams allows us to not only release the old stories but also to create a new story through becoming who we were meant to be.

This online Dream Group is for dreamers, seekers, and healers desiring to gain more insight into the healing power of their dreams. Together and through working with our dreams and our fantastic imagination, we tap into our deep creativity, establish a connection with the unconscious, and gain clarity, insight, and healing. We will work on dreams using the principles of Integral Dreaming, Jungian and Archetypal Psychology, and the Dream Tending method.

The work on dreams is hard to do by ourselves because we can never see where we are unconscious. Additionally, research shows that dreamwork in group settings can lead to increased empathy towards others as the dream becomes an opportunity for the group members to see themselves through its images. As a result, issues relating to our shared humanity easily surface and psychological wounds are openly dealt with through the empathy that flows in all directions in the group.

We come together in community and support each other to access a deeper understanding of what our unconscious is saying to us. Together, we create a sacred space for connection and healing. You can read about my research on the Transformative Potential of Group Dreamwork Here.

Working on dreams in a group setting leads to a multilayered experience of meaning, a cross-fertilization of ideas, and creativity. And this is nourishment for the soul.

“It has been a joy to reconnect to the wisdom and beauty of a Jungian approach to dreamwork.  I have witnessed life-changing transformations in other members of my small group, breakthroughs of the most profound nature.  And then mine snuck up on me.  The methods practiced in the group have allowed me to realize my soul’s deepest desires and I am already in action to renew my life.  Our souls never lie. Only our egos.” – TG., PhD
“Like the imagery in a dream, words are too limited to fully describe the tremendous growth I’ve experienced in the process of recording and sharing my dreams with Sara and the safe, insightful family of fellow dreamers she assembled. I’ve learned that you never step into the same river twice. From the first few meetings I began to see deep, internal shifts occurring as I gained clarity about my identity, and it is largely due to this group that I have found the path I so fervently desired to uncover.” – MM
“The dream group has been difficult for me because of my insomnia issues. My sleep is disturbed so my dream life has been limited. In spite of that I have felt deep connections with the other members, and surprisingly to me, the work on my dreams has been profound. In the group that I shared my last dream, I was able to let go of an issue that has plagued me since I was 11 years old. I am so grateful for that.” – MC, PsyD, L.M.F.T.
“Row…row…row your boat gently down the stream…merely, merely, merely, merely…Life is but a Dream”…well…being in Sara’s dream group has provided me with exactly the right ingredients to continually accept, grow, and allow having the courage to get out of the boat and let the current take me down stream.  Sara’s guidance and her holding of space provides her “dreamers” an atmosphere of trust…vulnerability and warmth. I feel safe…in myself…as myself…with myself…sharing my dream-time.” – JS
“I have struggled with dreams my entire life, and I never remembered them when I woke. Then, Sara created dream groups a couple of years ago and I have grown so much from the work we have done. What an opportunity to not only remember them but to understand them. I now have the ability of not only  remembering them, but have found meaning to my inner world.” – LB
“The results of sharing dreams with our group resulted in richer, varied, valuable insights, expanded creative perspectives and refreshing deeper discoveries. With each dream presentation, I felt seen, supported, respectfully heard, with gentle humor and diversity. The safety our group created space to freely express my dream materials. Sara consistently holds an encouraging supportive space, allowing ample opportunity to verbally translate dream material. Occasionally, Sara creates  a pause, opening space for clarity or expanded attention to an overlooked detail in a particular dream moment. I greatly value her positive regard, plus her willingly adding informed deeper context for consideration. What a privilege to participate in a generously warm atmosphere. I am encouraged and a  grateful participant.” – LB
